Sarah joined the On-Ramps team as a Search Specialist in 2022 and brings fourteen years of experience in the education field as a classroom teacher, district-level literacy coach, and school administrator. As an Assistant Principal and Principal, she has been the hiring manager in multiple public and charter school settings. She is passionate about sourcing candidates with a focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion for organizations in the social sector. 

Sarah currently serves as the Student Life Director at the Governor Morehead School for the Blind in her native state of North Carolina. She entered the field of education through Teach for America as a 2008 Corps Member in Eastern North Carolina. She spent the first half of her career continuing her work in rural northeastern North Carolina as a middle school English/Language Arts teacher. Additionally, she worked for Teach for America training incoming Corps Members in the Mississippi Delta. Sarah went on to continue her work at the classroom and district level in public school districts and charters in the state of North Carolina, including as the Principal of one of North Carolina’s two virtual public charter schools. 

Sarah returned to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill to earn her Master of School Administration degree in 2016. Previously, she graduated with her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the same university. She is a licensed North Carolina educator in Kindergarten-6th Grade, 6th-9th grades Language Arts, and as a K-12 Principal. She lives in Durham, North Carolina with her three children and enjoys being an amateur political pundit, reading, cooking, listening to podcasts, traveling, and hand embroidery.
